This is an exciting opportunity for a person who is dedicated to ensuring people are empowered to have their voice heard. The post is for a Managing Advocate for the Sunderland Advocacy Service. This service provides Management to support the Advocates to deliver independent issue based case advocacy to people experiencing mental health needs, supporting people to be empowered to have their view on their care and decisions affecting their daily lives to be heard.
For this post you will possess an NVQ L3 Independent Advocacy Qualification and a management qualification. You will have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy and processes including mental health, community care, child protection, human rights, safeguarding and disability. You will have a knowledge and understanding of the main issues and needs of people experiencing mental health problems, including those with a history of hospital admissions.
