Volunteer Benefit Advice Assistant (Ref: GA97)

Hours per week: 4 hours plus

Based: Gateshead



Pathways Advice and Information Service provides impartial advice and information on a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing, debt and mental health, to people experiencing mental health needs, their carers, family members and professionals.  We are looking for volunteer Benefit Advice Assistants to support our service delivery. This volunteer role will require you to complete Personal Independence Payment forms with clients. To carry out this role you will have a good understanding of a range of mental health conditions and of how the symptoms of these conditions can impact on a person’s life. You will have the IT skills required to enable you to be trained to enter information on MHM’s web based case management system. MHM will provide you with in house training to enable you to carry out the role, a full induction, and access to MHM e- learning.
