Recovery Worker (Ref: YO05)

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to the principles of social inclusion, to work with adults with mental health needs. Based in York Centre you will be part of a team supporting people who access a crisis drop in service. The service operates 365 days a year between 6pm and 11pm and provides information and support around crisis prevention for people who use services and their families and carers; signposting into other relevant and appropriate services, or agencies

 

Working as part of a team, supporting the Personal Assistants, you will work closely with mental health workers, GPs, Crisis Team, A&E, Police, partners and other agencies. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise work and will also be responsible for administrative tasks.

 

You will be educated to a minimum ‘A’ Level Standard (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), have awareness of/lived experience and/or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly in a crisis setting, and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome barriers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.
