22.5 hours per week

Based: Bishop Auckland/Spennymoor, County Durham


An opportunity has arisen to join our Sedgefield Employment Team as an Employment Specialist Recovery Worker. Your base will be split between Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor and your caseload will also cover the surrounding areas so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

As an Employment Specialist Recovery Worker you will be required to provide a high quality recovery focused service to our clients who have a range of mental health and complex needs including; substance misuse, learning disabilities and physical health needs. 

Previous experience of supporting people with a mental health need to gain and retain employment is essential.  Experience of partnership working, working with a wide range of employers and an understanding of the benefits system would also be an advantage.  

You will have an excellent understanding of community and training resources and the ability to engage clients in their local community. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.

You will be qualified at least to NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to motivate others and help them to identify and overcome barriers.
