Volunteer Police Cadets participate in a one year development program for young people aged 16-18 years. The program is an exciting, well established opportunity for young people to develop life skills, enhance their CV and help prepare for future Careers both within the Police and other professions. The Cadet program is nationally accredited and led by a team of Police officers, staff and volunteers who have experience of working with young people.
What will you do?
There are weekly sessions during term time in Uniform that involve learning about the various roles and departments within Merseyside Police. These include visits to the control room, Mounted stables, Firearms department. In addition Cadets learn and take part in Police training. Other activities include fundraising, community activities, high profile civic events and teambuilding. In taking part you will be Making a difference in Merseyside.
A straight-forward form, which asks for your personal details - similar to a standard job application form. It will assess your eligibility to be Police Cadet.
We undertake a straight-forward vetting process, which includes a background check on you and your immediate family.
Assuming you pass our simple vetting stage, you'll join our next intake of Police Cadets, taking part in a structured and exciting calendar of events.
