Why we need you

We are looking for an admin volunteer to support our Adult Centre Manager, Vocational Skills Coordinator and team of support workers at The National Autistic Society Centre (Greater London, Acton).  You will be part of an adult service team who supports autistic adults during day hours.

Volunteers have a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the services.

What you will be doing

Providing admin support with duties including

  • General administrative duties such as filing, dealing with correspondence, answering telephone calls and carrying out reception duties
  • To respond to general enquiries and forward on any enquiries which require further follow up or information
  • To provide support to the management team to input data – such as incidents, accidents, supervisions, holiday leave
  • To carry out fire and health and safety checks for the centre as required

Skills and qualities

  • consistency and accuracy
  • be confident making and receiving phone calls
  • confident using a computer to answer emails, input data and produce written information
  • be reliable
  • maintain confidentiality and data protection within NAS policies
  • be able to volunteer in a team with NAS staff.

When and where

  • The National Autistic Society Centre (Greater London, Acton), Woodlands Building, Mill Hill Road, London W3 8RR
  • We would like a volunteer for two days a week and are flexible on the days during office hours 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
  • The role will be split between a number of volunteers to cover Monday to Friday

Support

  • Autism awareness induction training
  • You will have a named supervisor
  • Agreed Travel expenses
