Why we need you

We are the UK’s leading autism charity. Since we began over 50 years ago we have been pioneering new ways to support people and understand autism. We continue to learn every day from the children and adults we support in our schools and care services.

We are looking for a volunteer to help with administrative support for the Adult Services teams the role will be to carry out general administrative tasks to provide support to our passionate and committed teams to enable our them  to provide an even better service to the people we support.

What you will be doing

  • Providing admin support to our adult services team
  • Data input
  • Responding to general enquiries using email templates
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Answering the phone
  • Photocopying

Skills experience and qualities needed

  • Confident using a computer to answer emails, input data and produce written information
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection within NAS policies
  • Be able to volunteer in a team with NAS staff.
  • Confident using the telephone
  • Reliable, consistent, dependable and trustworthy
  • Previous experience of admin is an advantage but not essential
  • A clean driving licence and use of own vehicle is desirable as the role involves visiting other sites in the area.
  • Agreed travelling expenses will be paid.

When and where

  • Based in Great Harwood. The role may involve travelling to other services in the area.
  • We are looking for a volunteer for approx. 2 days a week during office hours, we can be flexible on days and this role may be split between a number of volunteers

Support

  • You will have a named line supervisor and support from other members of the team
  • Access to the elearning packages including Autism Awareness and Data Protection
  • Training for the role you will be doing
  • Agreed expenses will be paid
