Job Description
Ready to Make Safety a Blockbuster?
We’re searching for a Head of Health, Safety & Security (HS&S) who’s passionate about creating safe, secure, feel‑good environments for both our colleagues and our guests.
If you love a role where no two days look the same, and you're energised by partnering with people across the UK & Ireland, this could be your next big feature.
Based in our London or Manchester offices (with hybrid working and some travel), you’ll shape the direction of HS&S across the whole region and help us run cinemas that are as safe as they are unforgettable.
Key Accountabilities:
- Keep our UK & Ireland cinemas and support offices fully compliant with health, safety and food safety legislation.
- Spot upcoming legal changes and prepare the business so we’re always one step ahead.
- Turn risks into improvements by driving smart, practical solutions across all functions.
- Analyse HS&S costs and find clever ways to save without compromising standards.
- Build great relationships with security partners, local authorities and counter‑terrorism teams.
- Lead audits for new and refurbished cinemas.
- Champion food & beverage safety and make sure our standards never slip.
- Investigate incidents, support teams, and escalate to Group when needed.
- Play a key role in our regional Crisis Management Team.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in occupational health and safety across multi‑site hospitality, leisure, or retail.
- Confident knowledge of HS&S, food safety and security management.
- A solid understanding of UK & Ireland legislation — including Protect Duty/Martyn’s Law and CCTV/security operations.
- A collaborative, proactive approach with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Experience leading a small team (nice to have, not essential).
- NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 (essential).
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
- Comfortable with MS Office and all the usual tech.
ODEON benefits:
- Bonus Scheme
- Pension Scheme
- Hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the office)
- Unlimited free cinema tickets for you, and 12 friends and family tickets every three months
- 40% discount on our food and drinks, including our in-cinema Costa Coffee stores
- Private Medical Insurance
- Critical Illness Cover
- Life Assurance
- Free access to our confidential Employee Assistance Programme – an online platform that offers advice and support on topics including finance, health, and mental wellbeing
- The opportunity to gain professional qualifications through our Bright Lights Apprenticeship scheme
- Fantastic career development opportunities across our cinemas and support offices
