We are currently trialing having some part-time (17.5 hours) Film Bookers, initially on an interim basis. This role creates an exciting opportunity for any cinema based colleagues who are interested in a career in Film Booking and who would be interested in working part-time in the Film Booking role!

As a Part-Time Film Booker, you will be responsible for maximising EBITDA by programming and booking film product to maximise film revenue and minimise film rental costs. The jobholder will also be responsible for the planning and implementation of Film Booking systems, processes and procedures.

The Role

  • To negotiate film prints, performances and screenings with distributors to maximise   revenue, minimise rental costs in line with the company objectives and targets
  • To plan and prepare for specific business periods/events/initiatives
  • To ensure effective implementation of administrative systems and procedures within the Film Booking function through support, monitoring and evaluation
  • To maintain professional relationships with Cinemas, Regional Managers, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other support office depts
  • To build, develop and maintain working relationships with all film distributors and represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • To analyse film performance by cinema, region, circuit and country
  • To analyse cinema attendance and film hire performance on a local, company and national scale
  • To provide support to fellow team members and assist with individual workloads to ensure timely delivery required tasks
  • To regularly monitor opposition activity
  • To approve and review cinema timesheets
  • To advise forthcoming line-ups to screen advertising partners
  • To be actively involved in the forecasting of GBO, admissions, film hire and budgeting   as required
  • To view features and submit commercially critical film reports
  • To advise on a weekly basis, of details of films played and applicable terms to support correct accounts processing
  • To assist with the advice and monitoring of cinema trailering

What does it take?

  • Strong maths skills (Maths at A-Level or Degree in Maths would be ideal)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
