Lead Patient Navigator | Sheffield Walk-in Centre | 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Lead Patient Navigator to join our urgent care team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, where you will oversee the coordination and performance of our non-clinical team.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, worked across 5 days out of 7 in 8-hour shifts), offering a dynamic and hands-on role with a 50/50 split between leadership responsibilities and working as a Patient Navigator. This balance allows you to remain closely connected to both team management and frontline patient care.
As a Lead Patient Navigator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service, delivering high standards of patient care and operational efficiency. You will lead by example, supporting your team while contributing to service improvement and innovation. The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and coordinate the Patient Navigator and wider non-clinical team
- Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure safe and effective service delivery
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and service coordination
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff
- Manage administrative processes including payroll input, stock ordering, and reporting
- Ensure a high standard of patient experience and customer service at all times
- Monitor and improve systems, processes, and patient pathways
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
About You
You will be a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership and communication skills.
You will thrive in a busy environment and be confident managing competing priorities while maintaining a positive and professional approach.
Essential Skills & Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent)
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong IT skills and ability to use clinical systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and manage issues effectively
Desirable
- Experience managing or supervising staff
- Experience with HR processes and/or financial administration
