The role

Whitehouse Surgery is looking for a Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team and support patients to better manage their long-term conditions, using a personalised care planning approach. As a Respiratory Nurse Specialist, the post holder is responsible for the delivery of Asthma and COPD investigations and reviews. They will work collaboratively with the Local Multi-Disciplinary Team to meet the needs of patients.

The Respiratory Nurse Specialist will support the wider Practice Nursing team as well as the Health Care Assistants and Nursing Associates, providing advice and guidance where applicable. They will review, suggest changes/ improvements to local and group wide policies and procedures. Once agreed as the Respiratory Nurse Specialist they will support the implementation of the changes.

Whitehouse Surgery is part of a nationwide organisation with many medical practices across UK. Therefore, when needed, the Respiratory Nurse Specialist may offer support to other practices remotely.  We have 40 hours per week available, which means full-time and part-time can be considered.

What is expected from the ideal candidate: 

Essential Requirements:

  • Nurse registered with the NMC
  • Respiratory diploma with special interest in asthma and COPD. 
  • Trained in spirometry ​​​​​​​

Desirable Requirements:

  • ​​​​​​​ARTP registered
  • Non Medical Prescriber (or the willingness to work towards)
  • Knowledge of Quality Outcomes Framework

Whitehouse Surgery is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built Health Centre, open to all Milton Keynes residents. We are located along the V4, between the H3 and H4, with ample parking. Our team offer the highest levels of care, as well as tailoring services to suit patients’ health and wellbeing needs.
