An exciting opportunity has become available within our Advisory Services team for a Helpline Nurse Co-ordinator.
About the role
In this role you will provide line management, clinical support and day to day supervision for the team of Parkinson’s UK helpline nurses. You will also respond to helpline queries and provide expert telephone nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s, as well as signposting helpline users to appropriate internal and external resources. Ensuring the effective delivery of the helpline nurse service by supporting the development of clinical procedures.
Skills, knowledge and experience
To be successful in the role, you will be a Registered General Nurse and NMC registered, with experience of working with people with Parkinson’s and have an in depth knowledge of Parkinson’s related issues. You will also have proven experience of the development of procedures to support the delivery of clinical information. With experience of providing advice and information by telephone, you will have excellent listening and communication skills and be able to prioritise work as well as work on own initiative.
You must be able to work on a shift basis to cover the helpline hours. The helpline is open from 9.00am to 7.00pm on weekdays and 10.00am - 2.00pm on Saturday. This role will involve working evenings on a regular basis and occasional saturdays.
