POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing the North American wholesale business. This AE will specialize in growing the Paul Smith accessories and ecommerce accounts, maintaining relations with our current partners and expanding on the divisions success. This person is based out of New York City and will work with department stores and specialty stores. Travel to stores is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Actively sell the collection in the NY showroom and other relevant showrooms in Europe
  • Gain and maintain strong product knowledge of the Paul Smith brand, culture and product and keep up to date with market trends and developments to help grow territory sales
  • Develop forecast sales plan for assigned accounts of responsibility based on previous sales performance
  • Compile post market recaps highlighting challenges and opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze weekly sell-out performance to drive and grow profitable sales performance
  • Responsible for collating market trend reports and product and brand opportunities and relay information to line manager and relevant departments in the UK
  • Develop strong customer relations with accounts by maintaining an open line of communication obtaining feedback on product performance and account requirements
  • Regularly visit wholesale stores to build relationships with store teams and become well versed in territory markets
  • Assist in all aspects of market preparation, including but not limited to coordinating appointments, showroom set up/ breakdown/ cleanup, and sample stock management
  • Develop full competent use of company systems- such as Prima, B2B, Omnivue, ClarityQB
  • Ensure all orders are processed in a timely manner, correct order discrepancies and assist in order book completion
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on product shipping status and liaise with Logistics/ Operations when necessary to ensure shipping deadlines are met
  • Report on a weekly basis to line manager to review profitability reports, sales plans and product performance
  • Organize and present product knowledge clinics to key wholesale accounts ensuring information is relevant and current
  • Manage Sales Support Assistant and work with them on queries relating to deliveries, returns, stock sales and swaps
  • Any other duties, not specified above, as requested by line manager

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree in a fashion and business related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of wholesale experience, preferably in the luxury market
  • Proven ability to thrive in a goal-driven, fast-paced environment, with the objective to exceed financial targets
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic, leadership skills, high energy level, and detail/team oriented
  • Retail math skills
  • Capable to travel domestically
  • Working knowledge of sample trafficking systems and reporting. Experience working with Prima and Mosaic a plus
  • Previous experience working with international shipments and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills/ comfortable speaking and writing with personnel at all levels
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (formulas, v lookups, pivots)
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills a must
  • Interest in the Paul Smith brand and has a passion for style and fashion
  • Interest and knowledge of current trends in music, arts and culture
  • Has initiative; is motivated and results driven
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Team player, helpful, approachable and trustworthy
