Job Description

Paul Smith is one of Britain’s leading independent design companies. We champion positivity, curiosity and creativity. These qualities underpin every Paul Smith design, whether it’s a shirt, a shop or a special collaboration. Reaffirming the values that Paul set down in 1970, ‘classic with a twist’ remains the guiding principle of the company. Happily positioned between high fashion and formalwear, while taking reference from both, Paul Smith has always been proud to stand apart.

We are looking for an Allocator to join our Merchandising and Allocation team in London. This role is responsible for coordinating stock allocations and deliveries across our retail store network, ensuring the right stock reaches the right stores at the right time.

Working closely with Retail Shops, the Warehouse, Distribution, Buyers, Merchandisers and Couriers, you will play an important role in maintaining the smooth flow of stock throughout the business. You will be responsible for monitoring delivery performance, managing stock movement and ensuring retail stores receive the support they need.

This role would suit someone who loves working with numbers and who is organised, proactive and detail-oriented.

What you’ll be doing
• Coordinate and allocate deliveries to all Retail Shops in line with their individual stock requirements, ensuring replenishment deliveries are prioritised.
• Maintain regular communication with Retail Shops, Buyers, Merchandisers, Warehouse, Distribution and Couriers to ensure effective stock flow and awareness of current requirements.
• Respond promptly to telephone calls and emails from Retail Shops regarding stock queries, delivery issues and availability.
• Oversee and monitor delivery schedules, ensuring any changes are communicated to all relevant parties and continue to meet retail requirements.
• Produce and maintain key reports, including the Delivery Tracker, Store Changeover Report, and Recall Tracker.
• Process, monitor and respond to all customer orders within one working day of receipt, tracking progress through the system to ensure timely despatch.
• Support the preparation and implementation of seasonal stock allocation plans.
• Help coordinate and organise deliveries for new store openings.
• Provide general administrative support to the wider Merchandising Team.

Who you are
• A keen eye for detail and a love of numbers.
• Confidence using computer systems and spreadsheets to produce reports.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.
• Accurate, efficient and reliable.
• Self-motivated and can work on own initiative to meet strict deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and find ways to improve processes.
• An interest in fashion would be a plus.
