Job Description

Shape the Financial Future of a Purpose‑Driven Organisation

Step up. Lead strategically. Make your mark.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a Group‑wide treasury and corporate finance function where your expertise will directly influence long‑term business strategy, investment decisions and sustainable growth.

Whether you’re an established Group Treasurer or ready to take that next step as a senior corporate finance professional, this role offers genuine breadth, visibility and progression — backed by a values‑led organisation that will support your development.

About the role

As Group Treasurer, you will play a pivotal role at the heart of Plymouth Community Homes’ financial strategy. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll lead on treasury, funding, liquidity, business planning and risk management across the Group.

This is a hands‑on, influential leadership role where you will:

  • Shape and deliver the Group’s treasury strategy
  • Oversight of long‑term (30‑year) financial business planning and stress testing
  • Manage lender, investor and key stakeholder relationships
  • Support major development and capital investment decisions
  • Build, develop and motivate a high‑performing Corporate Finance team

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and the Board, translating complex financial insight into clear, confident decision‑making — all while contributing to a socially purposeful organisation that genuinely makes a difference to communities.

Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who:

We’re open‑minded about background and sector. What matters most is capability, ambition and drive — we can support development where needed.

Essential:

  • Strong financial business planning experience, including long‑term modelling, forecasting and stress testing
  • Proven ability to work with complex financial models and interpret them for senior stakeholders
  • Experience presenting financial insight and recommendations at senior leadership or Board level
  • A solid understanding of treasury, funding, liquidity, and financial risk management
  • Exposure to debt funding & loan facilities
  • Confidence building productive relationships with lenders, advisers and internal stakeholders
  • Leadership capability — either managing teams now or clearly ready to step into a broader leadership remit

Desirable (but flexible):

  • Experience within housing, real estate, infrastructure, public sector or another regulated or asset‑heavy environment
  • Exposure to capital markets or secured lending
  • Knowledge of housing association finance or adjacent sectors

If you bring the skills, commercial thinking and appetite to grow, we’ll support you with the sector knowledge and development to succeed.
