We are currently looking for a Solution Architect to help deliver IT solutions across some of our most exciting programmes. Your main project for the early part of your contract will be assigned to our new ship build programme. We are in the middle of the biggest CAPEX programme in the business at the moment. We are building two new ships for our Dover- Calais route and these ships will be some of the most technologically advanced ferry ships seen. You will be working with the team to help provide the IT solutions to help drive the specifications for these ships and provide a futureproof vessel.
Our system IT upgrades are critical to delivering solutions for our customers for Brexit and beyond. The work will support both Freight and Tourist customers and help provide solutions to a number of changes that are coming to the business. Our parent company sees technology as the key differentiator for our solutions and so this role will be integral to the overall business strategy. Some of the solutions that you will be creating will be truly innovative and your work will be integral to programmes that have a capex in the millions of pounds.
You will be receiving requirements and then designing solutions that cover both functional and non functional requirements. You will be working as part of a matrix team and you will be communicating your designs with Business Analysts and the Digital Transformation Director.
The solutions architect will also be required to provide evidence to back up the solution in Technical Approval Board and make sure that the solution is compatible with Target Operating Model.
To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:
- Extensive experience of specifying IT solutions using high level design documents and detailed level design documents
- Good understanding of RICEFW specifications
- Ability to design multiple UML diagrams
- Solid understanding of functional and non- functional requirements
- The ability to robustly defend solutions with multiple stakeholders
- Good experience of managing and prioritising multiple projects.
