We are now recruiting for a Food Safety / Public Health Assistant Manager based in our offices in Dover. This is a maternity cover contract.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who has food safety qualifications and experience to work in an environment with challenges and solutions which are very different from the norm. You will be working alongside the manager to make sure that P&O Ferries are adhering to food safety guideline both shoreside and within our fleet. You will be liaising with the teams at the ports, offices and ships to make sure that any risks are mitigated. You will also work with the regulatory bodies when they are doing their audits and checks.
You will be seen as the subject matter expert and provide advice to P&O staff making sure that they adapt to any changes in legislation. There will also be work around assessing training needs and provide training to new and existing staff where necessary.

This is a great opportunity to experience working at P&O and will involve work onboard our Dover to Calais route as well as our North Sea and Irish Sea routes, so being able to travel is necessary.
Experience can be flexible and we are open to individuals who are looking for their first role after completing a degree in food safety.
To be considered for this great opportunity, it is essential you have:
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- A degree (or equivalent) in environmental health
