We are P&O Ferries, with an enviable heritage, brand recognition and future investment there has never been a better time to join us.

Do you love cooking up a storm for family and friends, are you always tinkering with ingredients or do you see yourself as the next Gordon Ramsey? If you love cooking and want to work in an unusual environment then a Chef Apprentice training programme might for for you.

We have an exciting opportunity to our apprenticeship programmes and are looking to recruit an intake of Apprentice Chefs, to train on-board our ships.  During this Level 2 Apprenticeship you will learn about food preparation, menu planning for both customers and crew, menu costing, food storage and safety, stocktaking and budgeting.

This unique apprenticeship scheme will last two years and will allow you to supercharge your career within the catering and maritime industry.

If you want to be a trailblazer within the catering industry then this role might be for you:

You will need GCSE qualifications in Maths, English or equivalent. In addition you are a self-starter, team player, problem solver, happy to work shifts and able to pass the medical requirements for working at sea. Please note this is a non-live on board role and will involve travelling to the Port of Dover on a daily basis to fulfil shift requirements.

If you already hold a post GCSE culinary qualification such as a City & Guilds or NVQ then unfortunately you cannot apply for the maritime caterer apprenticeship and you will not be considered.

If this sounds like you, please submit your application before the closing date...
