RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and maintaining excellent work relationships with the employee- and labour relations partners (workers councils and unions)
  • Contribute to continuity, as per company directives in the functional areas of responsibility, i.e. LR and ER
  • Investigate and resolve complex or critical labour relations issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Give timeline advice to management on how to deal with issues in the areas of responsibility
  • Prepare, drive and participate in all dealings with employee representation bodies, internally (workers councils) and externally (unions or other) as driven by business requirements as well as per the annual meeting- and event calendars
  • Pro-actively inform key stakeholders on relevant developments in labour laws, healthcare regulations, competitive practices, etc, in view of the areas of responsibility, leading to decision making including the necessity to consult with internal- a/o external partners.
  • Jointly with management, participate in negotiations between the organization and employees in the areas of responsibility, including collective bargain agreements (CBA/CAO).
  • Maintain an actual and up to date inventory of local CBA’s, analyse key differences leading to an accurate view of the company’s position compared to competitors in the markets where employees are sourced – related to staff covered under a CBA
  • Participate in the Hay grading change project – proper consultation, content discussions with workers council and i.a. unions, as well as with external consultants
  • Partner with the local HR team and management on the regular review of all elements included in the CBA’s and in the protocollary agreements. 
  • Assess the effectiveness of current reward programs in CBA’s  in relation to the company objectives and propose changes where necessary, in consultation with Head of CoE Rewards and local management.
  • Be responsible for the full administration of the comprehensive (legacy) landscape of retirement plans in P&O NSF BV, including the necessary communication to members and other stakeholders of the various plans. To this end, be the liaison with the Company’s pension advisor of choice as well as other external bodies.
  • Contribute to relevant sections in the Employee Handbook, CBA’s  a/o other relevant documentation



professional REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher educational degree (HBO) in law, business, economics, HR management or a related field
  • Min 8 years experience in Dutch compensation and benefits matters; knows the Dutch legal- and pensions landscape
  • Proven experience dealing with workers councils and unions
  • Knowledge of the Hay job grading methodology is a plus
  • Dutch mother tongue plus an ability to communicate in English
