We currently have an exciting opportunity for IT Engineer Apprentice to join our fantastic central team at Prospere Learning Trust.
This is a Grade 2 fixed-term post for 18 months, working 35 hours per week, all year round. The current starting salary is £24,796. The post holder will progress to Grade 3 after completing one year of service, provided good progress was demonstrated on the apprenticeship.
Working across the schools is an integral part of this role and therefore the ability to travel between the schools with ease is essential.
What will you be doing as an apprentice?
As an IT engineer Apprentice you will work under the direction of our Senior IT Engineer and provide a wide range of duties:
- To provide specialist technical IT support across Trust Academies including the development and maintenance of infrastructure/resources and to provide general support to staff and pupils.
- To work collaboratively with all staff and parents/carers to support student well-being and promote the values of the Trust and each school.
- Under the direction of the Head of IT Services support the installation, maintenance, availability and security of the Trust-wide network, hardware, and software.
- To make a key contribution to the development of and support provided by the IT Services Team across all schools through the provision and delivery of a highly effective service.
What training will the apprenticeship include and what qualification will you get at the end?
Full training will be provided for this role and within the first 18 months you will complete a Level 3 in IT Engineering to support you in learning to undertake your IT apprentice role.
Training sessions with the Trust and the Apprenticeship provider will be based at our Central Teams Office located in Wythenshawe.
Your course will include online learning, onsite assessment at work, tutorials and training activities within your role and the completion of a portfolio for assessment. You will be assigned a work-based tutor who will guide and support you to acquire and develop the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the Fixed Term Appointment and upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there would be the opportunity to be appointed to a permanent post as an IT Engineer.
