Terms of reference
To provide professional, accurate and efficient support to Punter Southall Aspire for the recording and reconciliation of income.  Processing and settling received commission, adviser charges and fees; investigating queries and liaising with PS Aspire staff and providers to ensure accurate income is received; and reporting regular management information. Operating within the governance and operating requirements of the Punter Southall Group. 
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Including, but not limited to: 
  • Ensuring income is accurately logged into the PS Aspire back office systems
  • Maintain up-to-date income receipts and debits records
  • Reconciling statements from providers with bank statements and expectations
  • Identifying anomalies and investigating queries by liaising with Group Finance, Providers and PS Aspire staff
  • Saving commission statements for easy reference and audit purposes
  • Supporting the Senior Associate and finance team to meet month and year end reconciliation and reporting requirements
  • Helping respond to auditor questions
  • To follow the set processes and procedures for managing income reconciliation
  • Adhering to data protection protocols and all of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Treating Customers Fairly consumer, conduct risk requirements
  • Meet all compliance and Group governance requirements, including completion of all mandatory compliance training.
  • At times, the job holder may have to undertake other activities of a similar nature.
Knowledge and experience
  • Experience of working in a professional office environment
  • Some experience of accounting systems and income reconciliation would be ideal
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications, with good Excel skills
Training, education and qualification
  • Educated to a minimum of Higher/A Level or Degree or equivalent standard
  • Strong Maths and English GCSE or equivalent qualification - minimum grade B
