Everything we do is fuelled by three core beliefs: that everyone has the right to a safe, warm and sustainable home, the importance of communities to help people thrive, and in empowering people and communities so everyone has an opportunity to improve their life chances.
We proudly serve around 80,000 customers across the South of England from Devon to Windsor managing a portfolio of more than 38,000 homes, supported by more than 1,400 amazing colleagues - and we’re not done yet.
We’ve got big ambitions and to achieve these, we need colleagues who are as committed and innovative as we are.
Our colleagues embrace our Values & Behaviours; be the difference to our customers and colleagues, always curious and look for better solutions, achieve together by working in partnership with others, own it openly through working with others in an open and honest way, and finally embrace possibility and see changes and challenges as welcome opportunities.
Your new role
We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and customer-focussed housing professional to join our team as our new Community Safety Officer. You’ll be dealing with some of our most serious anti-social behaviour cases, working alongside our partnering agencies and taking cases through the court process. Using your excellent people skills, you’ll assist victims of domestic abuse and work closely with teams across Abri by providing your expert advice and support so we can tackle domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and criminal activities in our communities.
The wellbeing of our residents and communities is our highest priority so a genuine passion for delivering an excellent customer service and always go the extra mile will be essential. Using your ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work under pressure, you’ll use your experience in managing challenging and often complex anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse cases to ensure appropriate action is taken against those causing these issues and that the victims are fully supported.
No two days will be the same in this role so you’ll need to be adaptable and resilient when prioritising your workload, but always putting the welfare of our residents first. You’ll have the confidence and assertiveness to engage with customers, sometimes managing difficult conversations, and using your excellent people skills to address and resolve issues relating to community safety. Occasionally you’ll need to attend meetings outside of work hours and you’ll also need your own vehicle.
If you’d like the opportunity to join us and ensure our residents’ safety remains our top priority, apply today and help us make a real difference.
What you can expect from us
We want our colleagues at all levels to be bold, inspiring and not afraid to speak up and be their authentic selves.
Your wellbeing is really important to us so you can expect a competitive reward package to ensure you and your family are supported at work and at home.
We’ll work with you to help you reach your goals through personal development plans and our in-house People Development team.
Depending on your role you may need to work a set shift pattern, or you may have greater flexibility to choose when and where you work. Either way, we strive to ensure all colleagues have a degree of flexibility to attend life’s important events
Abri is committed to promoting an inclusive culture. We want our colleagues to bring their individual differences, life experiences and knowledge into the workplace and we welcome their contribution to our amazing company. Everyone is different, everyone is unique.
Interviews will be held Monday 2 and Wednesday 4 November via Microsoft Teams.
