Your new role 

We are currently looking for an Independent Living Team Leader  to deliver a first-class service in our Eastleigh area - and we need you! We're offering a 12 month fixed term contract now as we are working towards a one way of working and reorganising to support the success of services that change lives. This will bring further opportunities to develop your career and yourself and a possibility of an extension.

The purpose of this key role is to operationally manage a local, specialist, independent living service providing housing and support for older people across a range of independent living schemes.

You'll ensure that the team provides effective housing management and support to people with a wide range of needs that enables people to remain in their own home and lead as independent a life as possible. Delivering change programs and working with other Independent Living Team Leaders in other areas you will continually develop consistent and excellent services that provide the highest levels of customer care and ensure that Abri complies with all established policies and procedures and required legal, regulatory and inspection frameworks.

As a forward-thinking Team Leader you will have:

  • A demonstrable practical knowledge of housing management including, for example, arrears recovery, void management, lettings, Health & Safety and Anti Social Behaviour.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing, developing, inspiring and motivating a dispersed team, where individual team members are predominantly lone working.
  • Evidence of delivering support services to older and vulnerable people, where promoting and encouraging independence is essential.
  • A full clean driving licence and/or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to visit other sites, customers and attend meetings, frequently located in areas not covered by public transport.

Effective time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and constantly re-organise priorities are essential.
