Your new role
Are you proactive, motivated, professional and friendly? We're looking for someone who is passionate and diligent to join our team as an Apprentice Electrician in September 2022.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do - we want to be the best, always going above and beyond for them and completing work for them quickly and to the highest of standards.
Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a ‘can do’ attitude are all essential as you’ll be our ambassador when you visit our customers’ homes with your mentor, completing works to the highest of standards all while being the friendly face of Abri.
Your day will include:
- Learning all about electrical installation, day-to-day repairs, maintenance and servicing within our properties.
- Understanding health and safety requirements and other relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Being supported by your supervisor and an Electrician Mentor.
- Assisting Electricians with basic tasks such as handling tools, leading to working independently on tasks that require less skill or experience.
- Learning how to identify or troubleshoot electrical faults.
- Attending college and completing all course work on time and to a high standard.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and driven individual looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced team. A chance to work on properties across the south of England, building affordable homes which will provide shelter to those in most housing need.

Important information about the application process: Our training provider for this apprenticeship, JTL, require applicants to complete a separate application on their website as an additional stage of the application process. This will consist of English and Math Initial Assessments, an IT Skills Scan, a Starting Point Assessment and a Colour Screener Assessment. Apprenticeships at Abri
An apprenticeship is an opportunity to combine practical training with on-the-job experience, all whilst earning a salary!
The majority of your time will be spent alongside experienced colleagues. You’ll learn in the workplace under the guidance of one our brilliant mentors and put your skills into practice. The remainder of your working hours are set aside for training and study related to your role. This usually takes place at a college or with a training provider.
Throughout your apprenticeship you’ll be supported by team who will work with you so that you can achieve your best. As well as your daily support from your mentor, you’ll receive guidance from your supervisor. You’ll also be in regular contact with our dedicated Apprenticeship Coordinator who will support with you with everything - from settling into your role, to coursework and reviews.
There’s a common myth that apprenticeships are only for school leavers starting out in their careers. That’s not true. Our apprenticeships are for everyone and we’d like applications from all ages, backgrounds and different experience.
The great thing about an apprenticeship is that it’s an opportunity to gain skills and experience as you learn. That means we’re less concerned about your experience, or what you’ve studied previously, but instead looking for the passion and qualities that you can bring to the role.
