Riverside are currently recruiting a full time, permanent Night assistant based at Hamble Court In Reading.
Hamble Court is a 35-bed supported housing scheme. We offer secure accommodation and a safe environment for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, whilst working closely with each individual to provide them with a package of support to meet their needs.
As a night assistant, you will deal empathetically with new and existing clients who approach our services or who are currently accessing our support. Our customers have a wide variety of complex needs and emotions. You will work positively with the appropriate agencies and local support services to deliver support to cover both practical solutions and emotional support. Regular contact and reviews will ensure that we are meeting the needs of the individual, making adjustments where needed and ultimately assisting customers to secure permanent housing, live more independently and achieve some of their aspirations. Your role will also require you to help maintain the standard of the building. Checking CCTV is active, recording activity that may present a risk, stock checking supplies and ensuring the building is secure and free from hazards.
You will work on a rota basis covering 4 nights out of 7 per week on a rota basis. The role pays a salary of £17,063 plus a 10% night shift allowance.
Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar role / environment, but your transferable skills are just as important. You will have a positive “can do” attitude, be customer focused, proactive and enthusiastic, with the ability to work effectively with clients, including those who may display challenging behaviour. Administration duties will form part of your role so applicants will need to be competent in using a PC.
Here at Riverside we invest in our employees offering training and support to enable you to further develop your skills within the organisation. We believe in rewarding our employees and offer exciting employee benefits, including 25 days holiday and much more.
If you're thinking of joining us, we'd love to hear from you. We encourage applicants from all sections of the community so that we can truly reflect the neighbourhoods in which we work.
Interviews for this post will take place on Thursday 5th April in Reading.
