Riverside are looking to recruit a full time Support Worker at Wilson Carlile House in Manchester on a shift rota basis between the hours of 7.30am and 10:00pm
Wilson Carlile house provided short term accommodation, support and advice to 35 homeless men aged 18+. We look to recruit empathetic, non- judgemental, and proactive support workers at this project who process the skills and attributes required to support our customers to make better life choices. All of our customers have a history of offending and some will present with substance misuse and mental health issues.
Your role will involve completing assessments, producing asset based support plans working through challenging barriers to empower customers to engage in meaningful occupation and move to independent living.
WHAT DO YOU NEED
Ideally, you’ll already have experience of working with vulnerable clients in a housing/social care setting. If not, you will be given on the job training but will certainly have the initiative, empathy, interpersonal skills, resilience and sensitivity to appreciate how everyday housing issues impact on quality of life.
Commitment to providing the quality service that our clients need is also essential. You will have excellent communication, IT and customer service skills and the organisational skills required to deal with a range of administrative issues.
