Riverside are looking to recruit a Full time Support Worker at Newbury house in Manchester. The role is 37.5 hours per week over a 7 day rota.
Newbury House is a supported accommodation project for people who have experience of long term rough sleeping and complex needs.
Support and accommodation is provided for any gender, singles or couples with or without animals, who are currently rough sleeping with complex needs or found other services are not suitable for their needs. The age range is from 18 years+.
Based at Newbury House, the role will also cover Longsight, Levenshulme, Burnage and Whalley Range supporting customers in dispersed tenancies within the community.
As a Support Worker you will be supporting males and females who have complex needs and have been rough sleeping for long periods. Customers may have offending backgrounds, mental health issues, substance misuse and physical health problems, which may present challenging behaviours.
The successful candidate must have a good understanding of homelessness and rough sleeping, and be able to engage with complex individuals in a variety of settings. You will be able to work flexibly as the service takes a person centred approach. Excellent communication skills are required, and experience of working to a PIE model is desirable, along with experience of tenancy support.
