Riverside have a new opportunity for a Support Worker working full time on a permanent basis earning £21,451 rising to £22,459 after 18 months depending on performance.
Who you’ll be helping
Newton House provides a safe, enabling environment for homeless people in Gloucestershire with complex support needs such as mental health issues, substance misuse and offending behaviour.
We provide short term accommodation providing high level personalised support, encouraging customers to make the first step to independent living.
We provide more than housing, offering individual support based around the customer’s needs in order to build confidence and independence.

While Riverside does have roles for carers, this is a role perfect for those looking for support work.
What will you do?
As a trusted member of our team, you will act as a mentor, helping develop a personalised support plan with a number of young people. You will also take the lead in beneficial activities to develop the customer’s confidence and skills.
Day to day
Your usual responsibilities as a Newton House Support Worker will include:
• Keeping on target with the personalised support plan
• Assessing customers new to the scheme
• Covering reception
• Some administrative work and general support in running the scheme
• Signposting and working with external agencies.

Does this describe you?
You are flexible, empathetic, inclusive and resilient. Even better, you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills too. You will be people focussed and be passionate about changing people’s lives.
Though not essential by any means, you have preferably worked with vulnerable clients in a housing or support setting before.
