Property Building Surveyor (Social Housing)
37 Hours Per Week
Package circa £51,500 per annum
Horsham, West Sussex (Hybrid)
Are you an experienced surveying professional who could work in our Asset Investment team and is looking for your next challenge in a customer‑focused business with a strong social purpose? If so, Saxon Weald could be the place for you.
As a Property Surveyor, you will deliver planned maintenance, investment and sustainability programmes across our homes. This will include surveying properties, specifying works, managing contractors and overseeing delivery to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
You will take a proactive, programme‑led approach to improving our homes, using stock condition data and your technical knowledge to inform investment decisions and plan lifecycle replacements. This includes projects such as component renewals, major repairs and energy efficiency improvements, helping ensure our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.
You will already have gained experience in building surveying or construction and will enjoy managing projects from specification through to completion. You will focus on delivering quality outcomes, value for money and a consistent customer experience, working closely with contractors, colleagues and customers throughout.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have experience managing planned maintenance or capital investment programmes.
- Have experience of surveying properties, diagnosing defects and specifying works.
- Have experience managing contractors and monitoring delivery against cost, quality and programme.
- Have knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety and CDM regulations.
- Be able to use property and asset data to inform decisions and plan works.
- Be organised and able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Be confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office (training will be provided).
- Have strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach, working with the principle of ‘One Team’.
Housing association experience and knowledge of sustainability or retrofit programmes would be an advantage.
