Scottish Canals are currently looking to recruit a Head of Customer Experience & Delivery.  This role is a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead, develop and grow the success of our world-famous Highland waterways; the Caledonian and Crinan Canals.  We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic and motivated operational leader with strong transformational experience to join us at a very exciting time in the evolution of the organisation.  The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and transforming these important working heritage assets, increasing their use for leisure and tourism, and growing and shaping them into world-class waterways for the 21st Century.  A background in leisure and tourism, although not essential, would be highly desired for this role.

As a member of the Senior Management Group, the Head of Customer Experience & Delivery is responsible for leading the 70 strong customer operations team, that welcomes up to 2500 yachts and  cruisers, and commercial vessels to transit the canals from around the world each year and servicing and maintaining 300 residential and long-term moorings. The Highland canals welcome a wide variety of other visitors to our waters, such as hotel boats, trip boats and a wide variety of experience led businesses.

This critical role will have responsibility for development & delivery of the business plan locally, supporting the shared governance of Scottish Canals, taking a leading role in implementing the strategic plans and priorities of the Caledonian and Crinan Canals whilst promoting Scottish Canals’ vision, values and reputation.

The role is offered on a permanent full-time basis, attracting a competitive salary of circa £55k to £65k per annum. The successful candidate will participate in a blended working model, working between home and our Inverness, or Ardrishaig office (dependent on geographical location of successful applicant), with a regular presence at canal locations an important element of the role.
