Recruitment Privacy Policy
 
SIG are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
 
1. Use of Personal Information
 
1.1 We will use the personal information you submit via the SIG Recruitment Portal to:

• Assess your suitability for a position at SIG;

• Deal with your inquiries and requests;

• Contact you in relation to your application for a position at SIG;

• Manage and administrate our recruitment processes;

• In the event that you are offered employment with SIG we may transfer your personal information from the Recruitment Portal to our internal HR systems, this Privacy Policy does not form part of an employment offer or contract between us. If we do make an employment offer to you, we will provide further information about our handling of your personal information separately;

• Where you have asked us to do so, to contact you about vacancies at SIG which arise and for which we think you may be suitable. You can stop receiving these emails at any time by logging into your account and changing your job alert settings.

     
    2. Controlling your personal information
     
    2.1 Should your personal details change you have the facility to amend your personal details via   your account settings.
     
    2.2 We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission to do so.
     
    2.3 You are legally entitled to request details of the personal information which we hold about you, under the General Data Protection Regulations and the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018.
     
    2.4 If you would like a copy of your information, believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete or have any other data protection related issues or queries, please contact dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk
     
    3. Retention of your personal information
     
    3.1 In the event your account has been inactive for a period of 1 month you will receive an email and you will be given the option to remain on the system. If you opt out or do not respond, then all personal information is removed from the system after a period of 6 months.
     
    3.2 Where a candidate is in process ‘application submitted’ data will be deleted 6 months after account becomes inactive.
     
    3.3 If you would like your personal information deleting from the system please contact dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk quoting your name and unique candidate ID number and we will use reasonable efforts to contact you regarding your request.
     
    4. Complaints
     
    4.1 If you are concerned that we have breached a privacy law or code binding on us, please send an email to dataprotection@sigplc.co.uk. We aim to respond in a reasonable time (normally 30 days). Our Data Protection Officer will manager your complaint and will give you additional information about how it will be handled.
     
    4.2 You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe we have not handled your request in an appropriate manner. For information on contacting the ICO please see their website.
     
    5. Disclosure
     
    5.1 All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence. Disclosure of personal information to a third party will only occur with the expression permission of the candidate, unless the company has a statutory/legal obligation to disclose the information.
