Are you a current resident of Southern Housing Group? Do you want to play an active part in helping to shape our business? If so, you may be interested in joining our Board!

We want to ensure that residents are represented right at the top. And with your unique experience, you can help us identify where and how we can improve our services.

Alongside our other Board Members you’ll be helping the Group make better business decisions. Our Board members have a shared responsibility, each bringing their own perspective and challenge to Board meetings to make sure our business is heading the right way.

The right person for us will have a mixture of existing skills, and the potential to learn and develop. And if you’re successful then we’ll offer tailored training to help maximise your talents. If you’re reliable, flexible, accountable and passionate about making a difference then you’re already on the right track. To be an effective Board Member, you’ll need to have a good understanding of the needs of the people within your community and be able to see the bigger picture and be objective.

We’re really in need of some additional knowledge and experience to add value to our Board. So if you’re clued up in IT/Digital, Housing Management, Building Safety, Sustainability, Care & Support, Health & Safety or Education then we really want to hear from you!

We encourage and celebrate the rich diversity of backgrounds, cultures and experiences of our team and our customers. We believe that sharing and learning are key to developing and growing as individuals and as a business. A diverse Board can bring an array of different life skills and experiences to help us to think outside the box, and to help us to better understand our customers’ needs so we can improve the services we deliver. We’re particularly interested in applications from those with a disability, from a BAME background or someone from within the LGBTQA+ community.
