We’re looking for an organised, experienced Scheme Coordinator* to join our team working across our schemes in London!  This is a permanent role which will provide flexible cover and support where and when needed across our schemes in this area.

Working within the Community Investment and Care team, you’ll work at our sheltered housing schemes in London (located in Hackney, Fulham, Stratford, Chingford, Camberwell, Whitechapel and the Isle of Dogs) where you’ll help residents with housing management and tenancy issues, liaising with other agencies and ensuring the safety and security of residents are a priority.  *Official title Scheme Services Coordinator - Annualised

You'll receive the full-time salary of £22,000 per year based on a 35 hour working week, though the hours won't necessarily be worked consistently Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. This role is to cover at schemes during periods of absence or increased demand so the hours will be worked flexibly as and when required. The hours will vary - some weeks you may work more than 35 hours, other weeks you may do less as it depends on the demands of the service. So being able to work hours flexibly and travel to any of our schemes in the Surrey & Berkshire areas is key to this role. Any travel expenses in connection with this role will be paid so you'll not be out of pocket!

The role duties

As the Scheme Coordinator, you’ll have regular contact with residents, contractors and colleagues to coordinate and deliver services. This will include inspecting properties, supporting residents, ensuring the scheme is safe and secure and assisting with lettings. You will give a great service that makes our sheltered housing schemes pleasant and safe places to live. We offer you a workplace where each day leaves you feeling inspired and fulfilled.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, organiser and team player with good administration skills; ideally you should have experience of coordinating and providing customer focused services within a housing or related community setting. It is an essential that you have a solid understanding of the diverse needs of older people.

You'll also be extremely flexible to be able to work a variety of hours from a range of locations to provide cover where and when needed, ensuring our services run efficiently and meet the needs of our customers.  

Working at these schemes can be challenging and can have significant involvement from external agencies at times, including elected representatives.  However, this is an extremely rewarding role and no 2 days will be the same.  If you have great tenacity, emotional resilience, mental robustness, and top-drawer communication skills then you’ll excel in this role!

  • Extensive and proven background in similar role
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong team player ethic
  • Proactive with the ability to make quick decisions to meet the demands of the schemes
  • Be flexible to meet customer needs including very occasional evening and weekend working
