We are looking for a naturally caring individual with an enthusiasm for providing services to adults with learning disabilities then you should join our team at our bright and cheerful registered care home in Ryde, Isle of Wight! This is a part-time, permanent role working 25 hours per week on a rota basis (including weekends and sleep-ins).
As a Learning Disability Worker, you’ll have a hands-on approach to caring for our vulnerable residents, working as part of a team to help our residents gain more independence and have better opportunities to get involved within the local community. This is a truly rewarding role where you’ll play many parts within our residents’ lives.
Experience, whilst useful, is not essential as full training and guidance will be given. However, it’s important that you’re a good listener who can communicate effectively and is keen to make a positive contribution to the lives of vulnerable people. Numerate, literate, motivated and flexible, you’ll enjoy forming and developing professional relationships and either have, or are willing to train towards, a vocational qualification in care. Due to the nature of the role, you must be physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks. Hours of work are over 7 days on a rota basis.
