The role

As the Senior Design and Technical Manager, you’ll be working within our truly collaborative and supportive Development team, the Senior Design & Technical Manager will be responsible for providing architectural and technical leadership, ensuring design quality is at the forefront of all development activities. These include supporting BIM integration across our development programme supporting building safety pre-compliance and Net Zero for all new homes by 2027. 

The Senior Design & Technical Manager is a key and influential role in our larger team.  You would be continuously improving our standards according to our established and systematic approach at a programme level and effectively manage quality risks by providing a robust technical and design advisory service on a variety of residential project types at all stages.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day.

The location

You’ll be based at our modern, vibrant office in Farringdon, the buzzing yet cultural area of London which is centrally located and easy to access via various means of transport. However, we offer the flexibility for agile working to allow you to work from home and so we’ll provide you with the necessary mobile working equipment.

The ideal candidate will have

Skills and experience as detailed on the job spec:

  • Able to represent Southern Housing as part of our expert client team to consultants and contractors
  • Confident, dynamic and flexible professional with proven ability to lead workstreams
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Solid experience as a designer able to provide a comprehensive design service
  • Robust knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and best practices.
