At SpaMedica, patient care, safety and satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK's largest provider of NHS cataract surgery, we have built a reputation for clinical excellence, supported by outstanding patient feedback and consistently strong CQC ratings.

We're now looking for an experienced Senior PMI Partnerships Manager to join Freedom Vision, helping shape and grow our presence within the private medical insurance (PMI) market.

This is a unique opportunity to build and deliver our PMI partnership strategy, working with leading insurers, consultants and healthcare partners to increase patient access and drive sustainable growth. You'll play a key role in developing long-term strategic relationships, securing preferred provider status, and ensuring Freedom Vision is positioned as a trusted ophthalmology partner across the UK.

This is a high-profile, commercially focused role suited to someone who thrives on creating opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering measurable results in an evolving and ambitious environment.

Why this role?
This is an opportunity to shape the future of Freedom Vision's PMI strategy from the ground up. You'll have the autonomy to influence national insurer relationships, develop innovative partnership models and build a scalable proposition in a business with ambitious growth plans and a strong reputation for clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver Freedom Vision's PMI account management strategy, creating and developing strategic partnerships with leading UK insurers.
  • Secure and grow insurer recognition, preferred provider status and referral volumes across priority PMI partners.
  • Develop strong relationships with insurers, intermediaries, corporate healthcare partners and key referral stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contract discussions, tenders and partnership opportunities from initial engagement through to implementation.
  • Work closely with consultants and internal teams to optimise insurer recognition, referral pathways and patient experience.
  • Drive the development of an organisation-wide PMI readiness plan, ensuring operational, clinical and commercial teams are aligned for future growth.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor developments and partnership opportunities to strengthen Freedom Vision's proposition and identify new routes to market.
  • Provide clear reporting on commercial activity, revenue opportunities, partner performance and future growth plans.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded relationship-builder who combines deep PMI market expertise with the ability to deliver strategic growth.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant commercial experience within the UK PMI market, including experience working for a leading PMI provider.
  • Proven success in partnerships, account management, business development or commercial roles, with a track record of delivering measurable growth.
  • Strong understanding of insurer networks, provider recognition, contracting, patient pathways and referral processes.
  • Experience building and influencing senior stakeholder relationships, including executive-level engagement.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation, tender and contract management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to use data and insight to identify opportunities and influence decision making.
  • Ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, finance, marketing and customer-facing teams.
  • Willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis.

Desirable

  • Experience within a private healthcare provider environment.
  • Experience developing or scaling a private or insured healthcare proposition.
  • Knowledge of consultant recognition, referral pathways and insurer relationships.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent commercial or healthcare experience.
