Who we are seeking

We are now seeking an experienced senior level operational support leader who will use current and future business practices to ensure statutory compliance, create the highest efficiency levels within the Support Services Department and oversee multiple departments to provide a coordinated team to support the production programme.

Success within this role will consist of continually assessing the performance of the departments against its budgets as well as their contribution and positive impact to the of the business in terms of H&S, Risk Management, Facilities, Transport, Marine Operations, as well as Yard & Lifting Operations.

Example responsibilities include

  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement on all matters relating to Health, Safety and Environmental performance
  • Provide effective risk challenge and support on material business transformation projects
  • Work with Senior Management in the identification, management, measurement, monitoring and reporting of significant risks
  • Support the company in the design of appropriate controls and challenge where controls are not effective do not exist
  • Provide effective risk challenge and support on new products and company initiatives
  • Manage the department to meet its KPIs
  • Provide effective, clear, useful and well written reporting to the Company and Senior Management
  • Formulate good working relationships across the company
  • Support the Company in:
    • embedding the Risk Framework
    • meeting the requirements of the Operational Target Operating Model by performing risk-based reviews and monitoring of the business
    • driving forward enhancements to the company’s risk framework and associated reporting and analysis
    • ensuring, employee claims are managed and processed
    • training for Operational Risk, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery methodologies

To be considered you'll need

  • Qualified in Health, Safety Management and Risk Management (IOSH and NEBOSH) or equivalent (Diploma level)
  • CMI Level 5 Qualified is essential, Level 7 - desireable
  • Substantial experience of managing departments, within the risk, safety, security, quality and / or environmental management structures – particularly the process of ISO 9001, & 14001, 45001 within a construction / boat building company
  • Proven track record in a Senior Management/Leadership role within the above areas of specialism
  • A willingness to be visible onsite, Monday to Friday
  • Methodical approach to tasks, very often numerous different ones carried out at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Unquestionable personal and professional integrity
  • The ongoing right to work in the UK (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
