Job Description
About Sunseeker International
Sunseeker was founded on a bold vision: to create a new kind of yacht and redefine what was possible on the water. From our earliest designs in 1967, we’ve pushed boundaries and reshaped the motor yacht industry through innovation, craftsmanship and relentless ambition.
At the heart of every Sunseeker lies a legacy of expert hands and meticulous attention to detail, skills refined and passed down through generations. These are the qualities that set our yachts apart - and the qualities that continue to drive our craft today.
In a world increasingly defined by automation, we remain committed to building hand‑crafted, hand‑finished boats. With over 1,800 talented team members across our busy shipyards - from long‑serving specialists to more than 180 apprentices - our Sunseeker workforce reflects the strength, diversity and pride of our local community. It’s this blend of heritage, skill and passion that makes our shipyards unlike any other place in the world.
Who We Are Seeking
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Risk & Compliance Manager to join Sunseeker International. This is a broad, business-facing role that will lead our compliance, risk and governance activities, helping ensure the business operates in line with its legal, regulatory and ethical obligations.
Working across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial and corporate functions, you will play a key role in protecting the Sunseeker brand, strengthening operational resilience and embedding a culture of accountability and compliance. You'll be a confident relationship builder, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels while bringing a practical and pragmatic approach to risk management.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working across a complex organisation, balancing technical expertise with commercial awareness, and who is motivated by the chance to have genuine impact within a globally recognised luxury manufacturing business.
A Day in the Life
As Risk & Compliance Manager, you'll work across a wide range of business activities, from assessing emerging regulatory requirements and overseeing compliance programmes to supporting risk assessments, audits and governance initiatives. You'll partner with teams across operations, procurement, HR, finance, legal and commercial functions to ensure effective controls and compliance practices are embedded throughout the organisation.
One day could involve leading a supplier due diligence review, delivering compliance training or advising on GDPR matters; the next might see you presenting risk insights to senior leadership or supporting a business continuity project. Throughout, you'll help ensure Sunseeker maintains the highest standards of governance while supporting business performance and growth.
Example Responsibilities Include
- Lead and continuously develop Sunseeker's enterprise risk management framework, risk registers, risk appetite statements and key risk indicators.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK and international legislation, regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain and enhance corporate compliance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Oversee compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, data protection, anti-bribery and corruption, export control and maritime regulatory requirements.
- Manage supplier, distributor and third-party due diligence programmes, including ethical sourcing and Modern Slavery compliance.
- Act as the lead advisor for data protection, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and associated regulations.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing regulatory readiness and continuous improvement.
- Conduct operational, financial, strategic and compliance risk assessments across the business.
- Develop and deliver compliance, risk and governance training programmes for employees and managers.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide clear, actionable guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Prepare and present compliance updates, risk reports and governance insights to the Executive Team and Board.
- Support business continuity, operational resilience and crisis management planning.
- Act as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors and external stakeholders.
- Partner with teams across manufacturing, procurement, finance, HR, legal, sales and operations to embed a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Lead or support strategic governance, ESG and compliance improvement initiatives.
To Be Considered for This Role You Should Have
- Significant experience in risk management, compliance, governance, internal audit or a related field.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, marine, aerospace, automotive, defence or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, including Health & Safety, environmental compliance, data protection and corporate governance.
- Experience developing and managing enterprise risk management frameworks and compliance programmes.
- Good understanding of anti-bribery and corruption legislation, the UK Modern Slavery Act and supplier governance principles.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of GDPR, data governance and information management best practices.
- Exposure to international trade compliance, export controls or global supply chain compliance would be advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing reports for senior leadership and Board-level audiences.
