We have an exciting opportunity for a new HR Assistant - Training and Development to help and oversee all aspects of workforce training and development within Crossroads Care Surrey!

What will I be responsible for?


You will assist with developing career pathways to allow staff to express their desire to progress within the organisation, and ensure they have access to appropriate training and development. Work closely with the Head of HR to introduce a new Star Progression Programme and provide information to ensure all aspects of CQC compliance are met and any areas identified for improvement are actioned immediately. 


You will allocate e-learning to staff members via Citation Atlas and assist with overseeing the induction and onboarding training of all new members of staff, including booking practical training and when required, coordinate and book specialist training.  You will work in conjunction with the line manager, to ensure all new front line staff complete their care certificate within their 6-month probationary period.

Could this be the ideal role for me?

To be considered for this role, you will require the following skills and competencies:

  • Ideally, at least five Level 2 Qualifications i.e., GCSE/O-level/NVQ – at level 4 (grade C) or above 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records and provide compliance reports readily and easily.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for learning to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to build a broad network within the area of training and development.

Desirable experience:​​​​​​​


  • Level 3 qualifications i.e., A level/NVQ level 3/Advanced apprenticeships. 
  • Experience of delivering training.
  • Knowledge of CQC regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key pieces of social care legislation.
  • Ability to work with members of the Senior Management Team and/or Board of Trustees to ensure our training and development provision is industry-leading
  • Ability to produce business cases to evidence funding requirements for training
  • Ability to seek out opportunities for free or externally funded training. 
  • Ability to travel to training venues across Surrey, ideally a full UK driver's licence and use of a car with business insurance
