… Sounds Great? But what will I learn…

  • How networks are built and operated in detail

  • You will move between the different operational engineering departments to gain a broad view of the business. These departments include NOC, engineering support and the three dedicated engineering groups covering separate disciplines

  • You will obtain a vendor specified networking qualification through self-study, mentor lead and on-premise training such as Cisco CCNA

  • You will attend customer premises with senior engineers to learn about install and commissioning works and faults

  • The final few months of the scheme will be spent focussing on a particular chosen technology and discipline with the view of dedicating yourself to that chosen field moving forward

  • You will attend appropriate training courses linked with your chosen technology or discipline

The Specifics:

  • The apprenticeship is between 18 months and 2 years in duration

  • On completion of the scheme you will have a level 4 qualification (equivalent to a foundation degree) in addition to industry recognised vendor certifications

  • On completion of the scheme you will have the opportunity to integrate into the full time workforce

  • The apprenticeship is a managed scheme with a mix between apprenticeship portfolio work, classroom & virtual classroom learning, onsite shadowing and vendor exams.

  • Ongoing support from telent managers, training providers and highly skilled engineers throughout the scheme

To qualify to join telent as an apprentice you must:

  • Have a minimum of 2 A-Levels Grade C or above

  • Have a Level 3 BTEC or similar in an IT related subject

  • Be able to pass government vetting and police Security Clearance

  • Driving licence is beneficial but is not a requirement
