Every time you pick up the phone, surf the Internet, travel on a motorway, catch a train, bus or tube, or even dial 999; chances are telent have enabled the technology to make this happen. telent is a technology partner to some of the biggest names in the transport sector including Highways England, London Underground, Network Rail and Transport for London; providing maintenance and management of our customers assets to ensure continued and reliable service is maintained for their critical communications infrastructure.

Role Profile:

•Support the Transformation Project and Technology teams, providing expert advice and ensuring CDM compliance in a technology and communications environment.
•Provide competent Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality advice to Project Managers and Designers.
•Support the production of Design and Implementation Hazard Logs, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety Files
•Ensure that QEHS planning, assurance and control activities are appropriate and compliant with customer and telent requirements.
•Form part of the review team for the Design Stage Gate compliance process.

Typical Deliverables:

•Expert CDM advice and support
•CDM Training 
•Ensure Principal Designer duties are met
•Review and advise Risk Management Plans
•Review and advise on Design Hazard Logs and Impact Assessments

Business Operations Skills – Experience:

•Expert knowledge of CDM and the effective delivery of CDM roles and responsibilities.
•Knowledge of operational highways environments and their associated risks.
•Experience in producing design hazard logs for technology and telecommunications projects.
•Practical experience of the activities undertaken in capital work and maintenance activities and the associated QEHS controls in either a telecommunications or highways environment.

•Experience of implementing ISO 45001 and NHSS Sector 8 compliant management systems.
•Effective stakeholder engagement and communication
•Track record of practical solution and problem solving

Business Operations Skills – Qualifications:

•Recognised industry Health and Safety qualification
•CDM 2015 Training, typically one of: ICE Health & Safety Register (Advanced), CMaPS, CMIOSH or equivalent plus, bespoke CDM training by appropriate body such as IOSH, APS or ICE and experience of design and construction.

•Relevant CBQ/NVQ qualifications for Highways / NHSS Sector 8 or equivalent accreditations/certifications for access to Highways environment
