Role Overview:
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for an Accommodation Support Worker for our Offender Services team in Durham. You’ll aid the delivering of a service, ensuring ex-offenders secure and maintain suitable and settled accommodation in the North East. This role currently ends in February 2027, but has the potential to be made permanent.
The role requires a blend of work in the community and within custodial settings. This is a fast-paced role working within a dynamic team and requires you to be a self-starter who can meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
You’ll manage your own caseload and give people clear advice, support and guidance to help them find and keep a home.
You’ll assess what each person needs, spot any risks early and connect them with the right specialist help.
You’ll work closely with the National Probation Service to plan for releases and secure good-quality accommodation that fits their needs.
You’ll run one-to-one sessions and group activities to build life skills and confidence.
You’ll keep accurate digital records and hit the performance targets we’ve agreed with the Ministry of Justice.
About You:
You know the criminal justice system and feel confident supporting people with complex lives.
You’re great at using everyday IT, including Microsoft apps, and can manage caseloads on digital systems.
You communicate clearly, stay calm in tough moments and know how to de-escalate challenging behaviour.
You understand local housing options, legislation and support services in the Northumbria area.
You have experience delivering one-to-one and group sessions and can motivate others to make positive changes.
You’ve got a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, and you’re happy to travel across the region.
