The Role:

We are seeking a Gas Engineer on a full time, permanent basis to join our trade-based service across all Thirteen housing stock, which may include:

-    Repairs and maintenance
-    Works to void and empty properties
-    Investment / Refurbishment works
-    Cyclical and servicing activities where applicable

We want to provide the best service to our customers, so we have implemented the ‘TradePlus’ scheme. A ‘TradePlus’ employee is one who is trained in a number of supplementary skills, in varying trades, in addition to their base trade.
A multi-skilled workforce allows our services to be as efficient as possible, by increasing the availability of appointments, reducing waiting times, ensuring jobs are completed on first visit and thereby increasing the productivity and efficiency of our services. All of which is aimed at ensuring we enhance our customer’s experience at the same time as ensuring value for money.

The Person:

You will be time served or have significant relevant experience, with an NVQ Level 3 / Craft Certificate in Gas Fitting or equivalent and who holds the following domestic gas qualifications: ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1. It would be desirable if you hold MET.

In addition to holding the required skills linked to the base trade, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate their ability and/or willingness to undertake all additional skills required of a Trade Plus operative. In return, we will provide you with TradePlus training. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake a range of basic construction tasks.  

We’re looking for someone with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, verbally, electronically and face to face. You’ll also be experienced in the safe use of plant, equipment, PPE and can demonstrate the relevant appreciation of health and safety and waste management legislation.

A full clean driving licence is essential for this role.
