Role Category - the way you'll work:
- This role is categorised as a roam role. Roaming roles are a mixture of home and hub working with, in some instances, a degree of being out and about delivering services to customers. Your working day will be determined by what you need to do and where you need to go to maximise your productivity. This means that you could start and finish your day in different places depending on what you need to do, so we’ll support you working from a variety of locations.
Our resettlement team offers support to refugees who have entered the country under specific home office schemes. Working with families for up to 5 years, the team promotes integration and independence. The team delivers a wide range of support interventions on a one to one basis and within a group setting. The role involves working with individuals who may have experienced trauma and/or torture and have complex support needs.
You must have vast experience with working with vulnerable people and adopt a holistic approach when working with clients. You will be expected to manage a caseload of varying complexities and possess the confidence and ability to problem solve and be solution focused whilst being part of a team or lone working. Providing emotional and practical support to Refugee family’s resettling within the Redcar and Cleveland area in partnership with the local authority. This includes all aspects of integrating into the local community, reducing barriers and enhance opportunities to ensure the families feel welcome and safe within the local communities. You will deliver sessions to small groups which will promote understanding in the differences between cultures and living in the UK.
You must be a clear and competent communicator, and although not essential, knowledge Arabic or another language would be advantageous. A minimum of NVQ level 3 in a relevant field or demonstrable experience is a requirement of the job role. Previous experience of working vulnerable customers, along with experience in supporting clients to maximise Income, tenancy sustainment, provide benefit advice, you must have experience in multi- agency working, record keeping and report writing.
