Please note during the school closures, as a result of the current Coronavirus (COV-19), all interviews for teaching and some support roles are still going ahead but remotely via TEAMS or SKYPE. 

Working Pattern for this role:  Monday to Friday - Start Time 8am - Finish Time 4pm.  Your unpaid break/s will total 48 minutes. 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Science Technician to join our Science Department and work within the Physics team at Oxted School. 

The successful applicant will work as part of a team of technicians servicing laboratories, preparing materials and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons as requested by teaching staff. You will provide technical support including Health & Safety guidance to pupils and experienced and trainee teachers including whilst assisting in practical classes and carrying out demonstrations. You may also participate in a Duty Rota to supervise students as required and trial new required GCSE practicals. You will dispose of waste materials safely, carry out safety checks on equipment e.g. Bunsen Burners and construct apparatus, as well as maintaining and repairing small electrical items. 

Previous relevant work experience in a similar service environment supporting staff and/or public is a must. The successful applicant will also have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level.  An understanding of Health and Safety requirements is also essential.
