Job Description
We are looking for an IT Trainer to join the IT team in our Bristol, Bath or Swindon office. You’d be responsible for providing a professional, proactive, engaging, and effective IT training to the firm with specific responsibility for expertise and advice on firm software and systems. This training would be delivered via various means, and to a diverse user group so we’re looking for someone who can offer adaptable solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining expertise in firm software and systems including Lawman (Practice Management System), Microsoft Office and team specific software e.g. conveyancing, probate and debt collection applications.
- Leading on the design and in person delivery of the firm’s IT induction and training on IT systems/software. Providing follow up sessions as required.
- Assisting with identification of the need for additional user training and delivering it.
- Building relationships with external suppliers of existing software to keep abreast of planned developments, helping resolve training issues whilst identifying solutions and improvements.
- Building the knowledge and problem-solving abilities of the IT helpdesk, sharing knowledge of systems or ‘quick wins’ to enable them to trouble shoot queries more effectively.
- Ensuring that comprehensive user guidance (guides/videos/infographics) on firm IT systems/software is available and kept up to date. Suggesting appropriate platforms or methods to make this available to the user group.
- Assisting with creating, documenting, reviewing and maintaining IT policies and processes
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with users across all offices, and in doing so, create a training development group so there are experts trained and available at local levels.
What we’re looking for:
- HND or above in IT/computer science/Training & Development is desirable.
- Established experience of undertaking a similar role in either a legal or other professional services environment would be advantageous.
- Excellent IT skills; adapts to and understands information systems quickly, explaining functionality and practical use to end users.
- Experience in training on a variety of IT systems including delivering training remotely and desk side support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating you are able to influence, interact appropriately and constructively with people at all levels of the business
- Able to develop and deliver training in an engaging way taking into account a variety of learning styles and experience levels.
- Good organisational skills managing your own time and training schedule accordingly
- Good analytical skills, to critically evaluate information, translating high-level information into details; deciphering ‘nice to have’ or business critical requirements for firmwide training.
Working hours & location:
This is a hybrid role based in our Bristol, Bath or Swindon office with occasional travel to other Thrings’ offices in London, Ross-on-Wye, Lydney, and Romsey as required.
We will consider applications for both part-time and full-time positions, working between 28 – 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
