The Nigel Vindis Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship.
We are delighted to announce a new and incredible opportunity available within the Vindis Group, ‘The Nigel Vindis Degree Apprenticeship'. This award has been introduced in memory of our late Joint Managing Director, Nigel Vindis, in recognition of his unwavering focus upon developing future talent, often in adverse circumstances.
Nigel was incredibly passionate about the motor industry and developing those within the organisation to be the best that they could be. He had complete belief in the careers available within the motor industry and the fact that greater awareness of these was needed. Coupled with this, he knew, and appreciated, that traditional routes to education were potentially become harder to access by certain individuals, and felt that there was greater support that the Company could offer in this regard.
As such, in his honour, The Nigel Vindis Degree Apprenticeship has been introduced
This honour will be awarded to an individual with the mindset, drive and professionalism to be an incredible business leader in the future; in a progressive organisation that is passionate about Valuing Employees and Cherishing Customer. The Vindis Group believes in Progressive Leadership and many of our Head Office Team, including a number of our Senior Managers and Directors, have developed through the organisation into the positions that they hold today.
As such, the Vindis Group felt it important not just to offer a role, or an education stream, but to offer a robust, and all encompassing, future; and to remember, as anyone should, the great leaders that have gone before.
This is what has led to this amazing opportunity to provide a deserving individual with the chance to complete a Degree Apprenticeship, whilst gaining valuable work experience to develop a career within the Vindis Group.
Vocational learning should be this individual’s need, or preference, together with an unwavering desire to be the best version of themselves.
The role will be, in the main, project based and as the Vindis Group is forever evolving and the Automotive Industry has some major changes coming up, with a large number of these changes coming into force over the next few years, this will be an exciting, rewarding and challenging role. The role will include analysing data and feedback across a variety of areas of the business; developing knowledge and skillsets within varying roles within the business; identifying potential solutions and improvements that can be made to business practices; and developing leadership skills.
The role will also allow the candidate to learn all aspects of the Vindis Group’s businesses, with a view to gaining an understanding of both Sales, Aftersales and Head Office Departments, to deliver maximum impact during the Degree Apprenticeship.
The ideal candidate should have a real desire to achieve and is seeking a career, not a just a job. At the Vindis Group, we are wildly passionate about being the best versions of ourselves daily and this comes with a level of resilience and self-awareness. We are ideally looking for a candidate who enjoys ‘applied learning’; by that we mean someone who wants to learn from ‘doing’. The university programme will be fully embedded into the role/projects and, as such, the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and prioritise their tasks to work to a fast-paced and challenging workload. This will, however, be supported by a Mentor.
If you also believe that you:
- Have a desire to be the best that you can be
- Demonstrate personal drive & determination
- Have the ability to communicate at all levels
- Are confident and suitably assertive
- Have great attention to detail
- Enjoys problem solving with a view to identifying solutions
- Are personable & approachable
- The ability to work both individually and as part of a team
Then this could be the role for you.
Each case will be assessed individually, but as a guide, candidates will be required to have the equivalent of C, D, D at A level, or BTEC, or two years of relevant work experience.
Although the Apprenticeship will be a Fixed Term Contract for the duration of the four year programme, the offer of a permanent position at the end of the programme is primarily down to the individual themselves. Work hard, be flexible, strive to be the best that you can be and the opportunities will be there.
To put this into context, we would like to share a couple of our team member’s stories – but there are lots more to share with the successful candidate – however, this should provide some comfort in regard to the Company’s approach to developing people:
Victoria Stubbs – HR Director, Vindis Group
Victoria joined the Vindis Group Team at our Huntingdon Audi Centre as a Receptionist some 13 years ago and throughout this time has constantly re-invented herself and developed her knowledge through various roles to progress into the position she holds today.
Richard Hillier – Head of Business, Bedford Audi
Richard joined as an Apprentice Technician initially and worked his way to Aftersales Manager of Bedford Audi, before joining Head Office as Head of Aftersales. Richard was, in 2015, then successful in his role as Head of Business for Bedford Audi.
We are sure you will agree that both of these situations are fabulous achievements, and neither will mind us sharing that it took a lot of hard work to get here, however it should help to demonstrate the commitment that the Vindis Group has to supporting their team members to progress their careers. These are not isolated examples either; there are many more than can be shared.
If this sounds like it’s for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
Ideally the successful candidate will hold a full UK driving licence or is looking to achieve this by the time the Degree Apprenticeship begins.
