The post holder will contribute to generating a positive reputation for VisitScotland by generating positive media coverage and social media awareness – both proactively and reactively - at a national level and with relevant trade press.
This activity will be tailored to raise awareness of VisitScotland’s activities and key corporate messages, creating a supportive climate with key stakeholders including tourism businesses, private and public sector partners and the general public which will help VisitScotland deliver its aims and objectives.
•Journalistic or PR communications experience is essential
•A good knowledge of social media is a priority
•The postholder will require to have a sound knowledge of the Scottish media, in particular the national press and trade/specialist press environment.
•Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines are essential, as no day is ever the same in the press office.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
VisitScotland actively promotes the Gaelic language and an interest in the language or possession of Gaelic Language skills would be considered a desirable attribute in any prospective employee
