Crematorium Operations Team Leader

Starting salary between £28,329 and £33,510 per annum

Full time, 37 hours per week. Worked on a rota which includes some Saturdays and public holidays

Based at Mintlyn Crematorium, King’s Lynn

Would you like to use your technical expertise and leadership skills in a role where dignity, care and high standards matter? As Crematorium Operations Team Leader, you will help deliver a safe, compliant and compassionate service for bereaved families and the wider community.

Combining technical oversight, regulatory compliance and day-to-day leadership, you will be the first point of contact for technical and regulatory matters and ensure cremations meet the Code of Cremation Practice, Environmental Permit, current guidance and legislation. You will oversee maintenance, compliance records, regulatory data and the preparation of cremated remains.

You will lead and support a team of Crematorium Attendants, from trainee to experienced operators, arrange cover as needed and train colleagues in the safe use of cremation equipment. You will also contribute across the service through chapel work, duty management and sharing information with visitors at tours and open days.

You will hold an FBCA or ICCM cremator training certificate, or be willing to achieve this within six months, and have at least three GCSEs at grades 5–9 or equivalent, including English and Maths. You will bring Microsoft Office skills, experience of cremators and filtration plant, supervisory experience, and the ability to communicate sensitively, work on your own initiative and lead supportively.
