Job Description

Business-to-Business (B2B) Marketing Lead

Starting salary between £39531 and £47796 per annum

Ready to put your B2B marketing expertise to work where it can make a lasting difference for both an organisation and place? This new role at the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk offers an exciting blend of commercial ambition, creative opportunity and a clear sense of purpose for the benefit of our communities.

As the B2B expert in our new corporate Marketing Team, within the wider Communications, Marketing and Engagement Service, you’ll have the opportunity to make this role your own. It’s your chance to put your specialist expertise at the heart of how we connect with businesses, investors and public sector partners.

Our Corporate Strategy champions growth and investment: attracting and expanding businesses, facilitating private housing development and delivering major regeneration ambitions through external investment. You’ll help turn that ambition into opportunity, promoting the borough for investment, growing its business economy and maximising income from council assets.

Through your marketing activities, you will tell a compelling story about West Norfolk, both within the borough and beyond the boundaries of both West Norfolk and Norfolk. Targeting specific business sectors, you’ll combine creative campaigns with strong promotional partnerships to reach potential investors, locally, regionally and nationally.

You’ll shape the B2B elements of our Corporate Marketing Strategy, aligning priority campaigns with our Corporate Strategy as we prepare for potential Devolution and ongoing organisational change. Working closely with Property, Projects and Regeneration teams, key partners and commercial property agents as needed, you’ll help turn investment opportunities into persuasive propositions.

From audience research and investment prospectuses to digital content, advertising and investor events, you’ll lead hands-on delivery and evaluate results. Bring your strategic thinking, commercial focus and creativity to help shape West Norfolk’s economic future.

What you’ll bring:

  • A marketing degree or professional qualification, at least three years’ marketing experience and a specialist background in B2B marketing.
  • Experience developing, delivering and evaluating marketing plans, using research, audience insight and data to improve results.
  • Excellent copywriting, digital marketing and graphics/design skills, creating compelling, accessible content for business audiences across online and print channels.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills, with experience communicating effectively with businesses and collaborating across teams.
  • Ideally a knowledge of West Norfolk and target business sectors, with the commercial awareness to promote investment opportunities persuasively.
  • Creativity, initiative and excellent organisation, delivering accurate work to deadlines within budget.
